I share many beliefs about art and practice with Michael Tardioli, as well as finding my inspiration and references from the same lineage. Please take a few minutes to watch this condensed interview video I created for SPAO where Michael shares his thoughts on the school’s 20th anniversary during the exhibition “On the Shoulders of Giants” in partnership with the Ottawa Art Gallery.
Shooting has finished for my current project Weft Under the Warp, which began in mid-2024. I’ve nearly completed the culling of negatives and organizing images. I’ll be making 11x14” silver gelatin prints of the whole series and will either make a second set of 16x20” for exhibition, or will scan the 11x14s to make inkjet prints larger than 24x30” if the space allows (or requires). My current darkroom doesn’t allow for enlargements of this size, but the end goal will always be silver prints. See more images like these on my making work page.
JANUARY 2025
Two of my works were finalists in the Figureworks, a biennial juried art prize and exhibition at Wallack Galleries in Ottawa, ON. This was the first exhibition or award that I have submitted to, as well as the first series that I produced, so it was encouraging to have both of my works selected as finalists.
